Christian Lückel
Christian Lückel was born on 10th February 1945 in Berlin and lives and works Bavaria now.
After school, he trained as a manager of industry and finance. At this point, most of his free time was spent on romantic painting; his inspiration came from private studies and visits to museums. He tries to follow the maxims of the greats in the 19th century ”Münchner Schule” and the likes, an influence easily discernable in his work.
His pictures are a finished example of that special love to detail to be found only with the few true masters of miniature painting and excel in their delicate brushwork.
Brush and colour produce a sensitive recreation of the landscapes and cultural characteristics of his native country, their idyllical motives give new life to the traditions and customs of times long gone.
Lückel’s love for miniature painting and his delicately executed work led to his engagement as the creator of several series of theme plates and won him the first place in the international competition of ”The Bradford Exchange LTD. Chicago”.
